Appearance & Taste

Premium Lapsang Souchong (Zhengshan Xiaozhong)

Our Premium Lapsang Souchong is not smoked, which means it remains dark brown, nearly black in color. The leaves are stout with a slight twist. The tea soup is bright red. It tastes very sweet and mellow, with a longan flavor and floral aroma. It tastes more delicate than the standard Lapsang Souchong combined with a very special fragrance belongs to Tongmuguan which is very hard to describe it but we highly recommend you try this Premium Lapsang Souchong if you have a chance.  It also can brew for more times than the ordinary one.  You can also consume it with milk and honey.

Taste: Caramel, Floral, Longan, Sweet

Origin

Qimen

The tea plantation – Tongmuguan, at the heart of Wuyishan Nature Reserve, is the birthplace of this premium Lapsang Souchong black tea. Nowadays, very little tea really comes from Tongmuguan; however, our Premium Lapsang Souchong Black Tea is an exception. It is of very high quality and has a very special aroma.

The producing area – Wuyishan Nature Reserve has a subtropical monsoon climate. This very famous natural reserve, which is 96.3% forest, provides an advantageous natural environment for Golden Eyebrow. The average altitude of the main producing area is about 1,200 meters. For almost 120 days a year, it is misty. The annual average temperature is around 11–18°C and the average precipitation about 2,000mm. The soil pH is 4.5 to 5.

A really special Lapsang Souchong. It has all the subtlety the mass-produced ones lack. The lack of smoking really brings out the special character of this tea. I love that it’s so healthful and packed with polyphenols and other nutrients, too.

  7. Flynn F.

As the oldest black tea variety, this tea can be brewed more times than the standard black tea so you get more out of the strongly flavoured leaves.

  8. Ethan R.
