This ice-jade porcelain San Cai gaiwan is crafted in Dehua, Fujian. The region’s unique kaolin deposits give the porcelain its fine, smooth, and gently lustrous texture, creating a jade-like translucency when light passes through. The body appears milky and softly glowing, and when the gaiwan is turned, a subtle inner light moves within the porcelain—quiet and elegant.
The bowl, lid, and saucer are well-balanced in proportion, with smooth, rounded lines that feel natural in the hand. The small lid knob is easy to grip, and the slightly flared rim pours with excellent control, producing a clean, steady stream without dripping or splashing.
The most captivating moment comes when dark tea liquor is poured in—the colour gently lights up through the jade-like porcelain, glowing like a warm sunset. This natural shift of light and colour makes every pour visually delightful and quietly enchanting.
