Bingmei Teapot

New

$379.99

This Bingmei teapot is handcrafted in Jingdezhen using traditional underglaze blue techniques. The body features a rich cobalt-blue ground with white plum blossoms scattered across the surface. The intertwined branches and blossoms evoke plum flowers emerging through winter snow, refined and understated in character.

The Bingmei (Ice Plum) motif comes from traditional Chinese decorative art and symbolises resilience, integrity, and renewal. Plum blossom, one of the “Four Gentlemen” in literati culture, represents purity and quiet strength. Blooming in frost and snow, it conveys perseverance and hope. The dense network of branches and blossoms creates a pattern reminiscent of cracked ice, rich in cultural meaning.

The form is rounded and well balanced. The short spout pours cleanly, and the curved handle offers a comfortable grip. The small lid knob complements the overall silhouette. The smooth glaze and crisp blue-and-white contrast give the piece a calm and refined presence.

Each teapot is hand-painted, making every piece slightly unique. Suitable for daily use or display, it brings traditional elegance and cultural depth to the tea setting.
