The Spring Awakening Side-Handle Kettle is crafted from rock clay and finished with a hand-brushed glaze. The body displays layered tones of deep brown and black-brown, with natural variations created by the brushing process, giving the surface a calm and warm character under light.
The kettle has a rounded, full-bodied form with a low and stable profile, carrying a quiet, rustic Eastern aesthetic. The overhead handle is wrapped in woven rattan, adding a natural contrast to the dark clay body while improving grip and heat insulation.
The short spout pours smoothly and cleanly with minimal dripping. The lid features a raised loop handle, making it easy to lift while maintaining harmony with the overall form.
The clay body offers good heat resistance and can be used over open flame, charcoal fire, or electric ceramic stoves, making it suitable for boiling and warming tea in daily use. With time and use, the surface gradually develops richer texture and character unique to the vessel itself.
The name “Spring Awakening” evokes the quiet moment when all things begin to emerge after winter. Rather than relying on decoration, the piece expresses a calm, rustic warmth shaped through the meeting of fire and earth.
