蜜香大金芽红茶比滇红红茶口感更丰富、更细腻。它产于云南南部、西南部的临沂、宝山、丰庆、西双版纳、德宏等地。这款优质的红茶属于大叶红茶类。
与滇红红茶相比，蜜香大金芽红茶口感更丰富、更细腻，尝起来新鲜醇厚，口感柔滑甜美。
冲泡蜜香大金芽时，用90℃-95℃的热水冲泡4g-5g（每1g茶50g-60g热水），第一次冲泡时浸泡茶叶约8s-15s，而后根据冲泡的次数依次延长冲泡时间3s-5s。需要注意的是，冲泡茶叶的时候不要使用开水，因为高温不仅仅会破坏红茶叶内的维生素C和其他成分，而且还会加速咖啡因和茶多酚等酚类物质的沉淀，使茶味变得酸涩。
蜜香大金芽的咖啡因含量很高，孕妇或正在服用药物的人需在医嘱下吃茶。
蜜香大金芽以其醇厚甘甜著称，产于云南南部和西南部的临沂、宝山、丰庆、西双版纳、德宏等地。生产区内丘陵起伏，平均海拔1000多米，地处亚热带地区。年平均气温在18°C – 22°C左右，昼夜温差很大。年降水量1200mm -1700mm。有“晴时早晚遍地雾，阴雨成天满山云”的气候特征。 森林茂密，土壤肥沃，落叶和枯草形成了深厚的腐殖质层。这些条件致使茶树高大，芽壮叶肥，着生茂密白毫。即使长至5～6片叶，仍质软而嫩，含有丰富的多酚类化合物和生物碱。
